The Process

  • To make sure your eyes are ready and your results heal beautifully, follow these simple steps before your appointment:

    • 6 months prior: Stop using lash growth serums, as they can make the skin more sensitive and affect healing.

    • 1 week prior: Remove lash extensions and avoid Botox or filler around the eye area.

    • 72 hours prior: Discontinue use of blood-thinning supplements and avoid sunburn or irritation around the eyes.

    • 24 hours prior: Skip caffeine, alcohol, ibuprofen, and aspirin — these can increase sensitivity and bleeding. Arrive with clean eyes, free of makeup.

Following these steps helps ensure a smooth appointment and the best healed results.

  • Here’s what you can expect during your eyeliner session:

    • Consultation: We’ll start by going over your goals, concerns, and any questions so you feel comfortable and informed every step of the way.

    • Mapping: For lash line enhancement, no mapping is needed — pigment is placed right where your lashes grow. For smokey or winged liner, we’ll map out direction and shape based on your eye anatomy (lid space, bone structure, and long-term wear). You’ll approve the plan before we begin.

    • Application: We typically start with one eye, doing a light first pass to prep the skin and confirm our placement. After numbing, we’ll build up color in layers, moving back and forth between eyes until we’ve achieved the perfect definition.

    • Reveal & Aftercare: Immediately after, your liner will look bold, slightly swollen, and may even appear uneven — this is normal. As it heals, the line will shrink and soften to a more natural charcoal finish. Before you leave, we’ll review aftercare with you and send you home with an aftercare kit (and a few goodies) to support a smooth healing process.

We’ll guide you every step of the way so you know exactly what to expect — no surprises, just eyes that stay effortlessly defined.

  • Your aftercare routine is key to even, long-lasting eyeliner. Here’s what to expect and how to care for your eyes as they heal:

    • What You’ll Do: Starting the night of your appointment, gently swipe a damp cotton pad across your liner morning and night for 5 days to remove lymph fluid. After cleaning, apply a half rice-sized amount of healing ointment to both eyes (not each). The liner should look lightly hydrated, never glossy or wet. Once you reach day 5 — or if peeling begins — stop the cotton pad and ointment, and let your eyes finish healing naturally.

    • What You’ll See:

      • Immediately after: Liner will look bold, slightly swollen, and possibly uneven — this is normal. Swelling can last up to 48 hours.

      • Days 2–3: Liner may darken as it prepares to peel.

      • Around day 5: Peeling may begin and last a few days, though some clients don’t peel at all due to the thin skin of the eyelid.

      • After peeling: Liner may appear lighter or patchy during the “ghosting” phase. This happens as new skin forms over the pigment. Around weeks 6–8, the true color will “bloom” back through.

    • What to Avoid: Until your eyeliner is fully healed and flake-free, avoid saunas, steam rooms, heavy sweating, swimming, makeup/skincare near the eyes, wearing contacts, eye drops, and of course picking or scratching at the area.

Following aftercare closely is the best way to ensure your eyeliner heals evenly and beautifully.

  • Eyeliner tattooing is a two-step process designed for crisp, lasting results.

    • The Perfecting Session: Your first appointment builds the foundation of your liner. At your touch-up (6–8 weeks later), we refine tone, density, and saturation to ensure your eyeliner heals evenly and beautifully. After this session, you’ll follow the same aftercare routine as your initial appointment.

    • Protecting Your Investment: Eyeliner tattooing is low-maintenance, not no-maintenance. To keep your liner looking fresh:

      • Protect your eyes from sun exposure by wearing sunglasses — UV rays are the #1 cause of fading.

      • Keep retinols, acids, and other aggressive skincare products at least an inch away from the eyes.

      • Plan for a refresh every 2–5 years. As your eyeliner naturally fades, you can book a colorboost — a one-time appointment that sharpens definition and restores vibrancy for another 2–5 years.

With the right care, your eyeliner will stay defined and effortless for years to come.

TOTALLY CUSTOMIZED TO YOU

TOTALLY CUSTOMIZED TO YOU

Every eye is unique, which is why we offer different eyeliner techniques to suit your features and your lifestyle. Whether you want something barely-there or bold and defined, our artists will help you choose the style that fits your goals best.

LASH LINE ENHANCEMENT

Pigment is placed directly in the lash line to create the illusion of thicker, fuller lashes without the look of obvious makeup.

This style is perfect for clients who want their eyes to “pop” naturally — think of it as invisible definition that makes your lashes look denser and your eyes more awake.

Subtle, timeless, and low-maintenance, lash line enhancement is ideal for anyone who wants effortless everyday polish.

CLASSIC EYELINER

A sharp, defined line that gives your eyes timeless elegance and instant lift.

This style can be worn sleek across the lash line or finished with a subtle wing, customized to your eye shape for balance and long-term wear.

Perfect for clients who love the look of eyeliner every day but want to skip the hassle of drawing it on.

SMOKEY EYELINER

A soft, diffused liner that adds definition without harsh edges. Perfect for clients who want a more blended, everyday look.

This style enhances the lash line while creating a subtle shadow effect, giving the illusion of fuller lashes and a lifted eye.

Customizable from light and airy to deeper and more dramatic, smokey liner is a versatile option that feels polished but never overpowering.

Each style is fully customized to your eye shape, bone structure, and preferences — not every client is suited for every style, so we encourage you to reach out if you’d like guidance on which technique will work best for you.

Things You Might Be Wondering

  • Most clients describe it as mild scratching or pressure. We use both primary and secondary topical numbing to keep you comfortable throughout the entire process.

  • Not at all. Fresh liner looks bolder right after your appointment, but it softens as it heals. We customize every treatment to your features and style, whether you want a barely-there lash line enhancement or a soft smokey wing.

  • Yes — once your eyeliner is fully healed. During the healing phase, you’ll need to avoid mascara, lash extensions, and eye makeup to keep the area clean.

  • You’ll need to have lash extensions removed at least 1 week prior to your appointment, and you’ll need to wait until your eyeliner is fully healed before getting them reapplied.

  • Eyeliner tattooing typically lasts 2–5 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and how well you care for it. A Color Boost every few years helps keep it looking sharp and defined.

  • Eyeliner tattooing may not be suitable if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, on Accutane, have certain eye conditions, or are prone to keloid scarring. You also must have discontinued lash serums for at least 6 months prior to your appointment, as they can make the skin more fragile and interfere with tattooing. If you’re unsure, reach out and we’ll guide you.
