Your eyebrows frame your face and set the tone for your entire look, which is why we take a customized approach to every client. At Rituals, we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all brow. Instead, we offer a variety of techniques, including nano, microblading, powder, and combination brows, to create results that are tailored to your unique features, skin type, and lifestyle.
Whether you’re hoping to restore fullness, add symmetry, or simply wake up with effortlessly polished brows, our artists are here to guide you toward the technique that fits your goals best. From the most natural, hair-like strokes to soft shading or a more defined finish, your brows are designed to enhance your natural beauty and feel completely your own.

The Process
-
To make sure your skin is in the best condition for tattooing (and to help your brows heal beautifully), there are a few steps to follow before your appointment:
4–6 weeks prior: Pause use of harsh skincare products like retinol, tretinoin, or anything highly active. Avoid Botox, fillers, or abrasive facials in the brow area.
2–3 weeks prior: Discontinue products with AHAs or BHAs. Limit sun exposure and avoid blood-thinning supplements if possible.
24 hours prior: Skip alcohol, caffeine, exercise, ibuprofen, or aspirin, as they can all increase bleeding and affect retention.
Following these simple steps gives your skin the best chance to retain pigment evenly and ensures your results last.
-
Here’s what you can expect the day of your brow transformation:
Consultation: We’ll start by talking through your goals, concerns, and answering any questions so you feel comfortable and informed.
Mapping: Using your natural brow + bone structure, we’ll design a shape tailored specifically to you. Nothing moves forward until you’ve approved it.
Application: We’ll work in layers (“passes”), building color and density gradually until your brows are just right.
Reveal & Aftercare: Immediately after, your brows will look darker, bolder, and more defined than they will once healed. It might feel a bit overwhelming at first, but this is totally normal (we call it “brow shock”). Over the next few weeks, they’ll soften, shrink slightly, and lighten by about 50%. Before you leave, we’ll walk you through aftercare and send you home with an aftercare kit and goodies to help you heal perfectly.
✦ We’ll guide you through every step so you know exactly what’s happening — no surprises, just beautiful brows in progress.
-
How you care for your brows after your appointment is just as important as the procedure itself. Every artist at Rituals provides customized aftercare, so be sure to follow the instructions you receive — but here’s the general process you can expect:
Cleansing: Starting the night of your appointment, gently cleanse your brows twice daily (morning and night) outside of the shower.
Drying: Pat dry with a clean paper towel — skip hand towels, as they can hold bacteria.
Moisturizing: Apply a rice-sized amount of aftercare ointment to both brows (not each individually). They should look lightly hydrated, never glossy or goopy.
Duration: Continue this process for about 10 days, or until your brows are fully healed.
✦ During healing, expect your brows to go through changes — they may appear darker, then lighten and soften over time. This is completely normal and part of the process.
-
Permanent makeup is a two-step process designed for long-lasting, natural results:
The Perfecting Session: Your first appointment lays the foundation — shape, balance, and base color. At your touch-up (6–8 weeks later), we fine-tune tone, density, and any small adjustments so your brows are truly perfected. You’ll follow the same aftercare as your initial session while they heal.
Protecting Your Investment: Permanent makeup is low-maintenance, not no-maintenance. To keep your brows looking beautiful:
Always apply a high SPF when outdoors — sun exposure is the #1 cause of fading.
Keep strong skincare (retinols, acids, exfoliants) at least an inch away from your brows.
Plan for a refresh (Color Boost) every 1–3 years. This keeps your brows defined, their color vibrant, and prevents you from needing to fill them in again.
✦ With the right care, your brows will stay soft, natural, and perfectly defined for years to come.
Our Techniques
-
An advanced machine technique to create ultra-fine, hair-like strokes that mimic your natural brow hairs. This method is gentler on the skin than traditional microblading and is known for its precision, longevity, and beautifully natural results. The strokes blend seamlessly with your existing hairs, making it nearly impossible to tell the difference.
✦ Best for: clients with normal to combination skin, those seeking the most natural and long-lasting hair stroke effect, and anyone who wants a soft, realistic brow enhancement.
-
A manual technique where delicate strokes are etched into the skin using a handheld tool. These strokes resemble natural brow hairs and create a subtle, realistic enhancement. Microblading is one of the most well-known forms of cosmetic tattooing and is perfect for those who want a very natural look without the daily hassle of filling in their brows.
✦ Best for: clients with normal to dry skin and minimal oil production.
-
Created using a machine technique that implants pigment in soft layers, giving the effect of a gentle, shaded brow, similar to a soft makeup look. The results are beautifully defined yet still natural, with a powdery finish that heals to a soft tint rather than harsh lines. Intensity can be tailored to your preference, from light and airy to more filled-in.
✦ Best for: all skin types, including oily skin, and for those who prefer a more polished, makeup-ready look.
-
Combine the best of both worlds: natural hair strokes at the front of the brow for softness, blended seamlessly into shading through the body and tail for definition and depth. This hybrid technique creates a very balanced, dimensional look that works well for clients who want both realism and density.
✦ Best for: clients who want fullness and definition while still keeping a natural, hair-like appearance. Great for those with sparse or uneven brows.

Things You Might Be Wondering
-
Most clients describe it as mild scratching or pressure rather than pain. We also use a topical numbing cream to keep you as comfortable as possible.
-
We’ll color-match to your skin tone and natural hair to create a shade that looks soft and natural once healed. Pigments always heal lighter and softer, so we build a tone that enhances your features without overpowering them. If you’re nervous about your brows being too bold, rest assured that our clients always start more conservatively at your first appointment. We’d always rather you come into your perfecting session saying you want them darker than say they are too dark.
-
You don’t need to figure it out on your own ! Just reach out to us, and we’ll help guide you toward the method and artist that best suit your skin, lifestyle, and goals. Not every artist offers every technique mentioned above, so contacting us first ensures you’ll be matched with the right service and the right artist.
-
If you’ve had previous brow tattooing, please send us clear photos before booking. Not all old work can be corrected or covered, and we’ll let you know if we can take you on as a client.
-
Cosmetic tattooing or permanent makeup is not recommended if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, on Accutane, or have certain health conditions. If you’re unsure, reach out and we’ll help guide you!
